Policies

  1. Before you register for the summer/winter session from outside of our institution, you should finish your first & second semesters at SUNY Korea.
  2. You can only take 6 credits for summer and 4 credits for winter sessions in one academic year (two semesters).
  3. Please submit the Online Course Application Form if you are taking online courses. You may find the form HERE.
  4. For WRT102, you can only take the SBU course.
  5. If you take summer/winter sessions from other schools, you must receive above C.
  6. If you are taking a leave of absence and wish to take summer/winter sessions outside of SBU and SUNY Korea, you must proceed with rematriculation first. After your SBU account is activated, your summer/winter session grades will be uploaded.
  7. For transfer credits, students can transfer credits from other institutions only up to 12 credits (maximum 9 credits for online courses).
  8. Students cannot enroll in WEST campus and SK courses simultaneously.

Steps to Follow

  1. Check the “Course Equivalency” HERE.
  2. If you are taking the SBU or SUNY Korea summer/winter session, please contact your department coordinator. Send an email about “Your SBU ID #, Which course you’re trying to take, Online/Offline”.
  3. If you’re taking an online course, you must fill out the online course application HERE.
  4. After the coordinator informs you, you may register for the course and pay through “What Do I Owe?” on Solar. Typically, this appears on Solar very late.
  5. If you are taking the summer/winter session from Yonsei, Korea, BYU, etc. ⇒ Please check if the course satisfies SBU requirements on “Course Equivalency”.
  6. If you are not sure about it, please email or book a meeting with your coordinator.
  7. The department coordinator is unable to register students for off-campus courses. If you wish to take a course outside campus, please contact the respective school directly.
  8. When you finish the course, please provide the school with my contact information so they can send me your transcript directly.
