Minor & Double Major & Transfer

  1. Complete CSE 114CSE 214, and CSE 215. (For Minor, complete CSE114 and either CSE214 or CSE215)
  2. Earn B- or higher grades and a grade point average of 3.20 or higher in the above courses.
  3. Earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
  4. You must finish taking those three courses in two semesters.
  5. Applications for major admission from non-CEAS students and double major applicants are reviewed twice per year. You will receive the major transfer application email from Academic Affairs.

Minor

  1. CSE114, CSE214, CSE216, Four additional CSE courses (three upper-division CSE courses totaling at least 9 credits)
  2. Four additional CSE courses exclude CSE300, CSE312, CSE475, CSE487, and CSE488.
  3. CSE301 cannot be used as a technical elective for the minor.
  4. Each course taken to satisfy the requirements for the minor must be passed with a letter grade of C or higher.

Process of Declaration (For All Cases)

  1. Check the CS requirement for the declaration of transfer/double major/minor from

    Undergraduate Bulletin.

  2. Meet with the CS coordinator to check your academic progress and policy.

  3. Apply for a Major Transfer Application if you are trying to transfer the major.

  4. Fill out the declaration form. You may download the declaration form by clicking here.

    1. Transfer/double major applicants -> First Major 'CSE'
    2. Minor applicants -> Second Major 'CSE', Current First Major 'TSM/ AMS/ BUS/ MEC')
  5. Submit the forms to the CS coordinator (It takes time to get signatures from the Chair and proceed it.
